Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you. Psalm 33:22

The Lord looks down from heaven;
    he sees all humankind.
From where he sits enthroned he watches
    all the inhabitants of the earth—
he who fashions the hearts of them all,
    and observes all their deeds.
A king is not saved by his great army;
    a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
The war horse is a vain hope for victory,
    and by its great might it cannot save.

Truly the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
    on those who hope in his steadfast love,
to deliver their soul from death,
    and to keep them alive in famine.

Our soul waits for the Lord;
    he is our help and shield.
Our heart is glad in him,
    because we trust in his holy name.
Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
    even as we hope in you.

Psalm 33:13-22

Our hope is in the Lord. The king’s army does not save him; the warrior is not delivered through his strength; our hope of victory is not in the warhorse. Only the Lord can truly save us. Like the king or warrior, we might look to things or people to bring about change, a new beginning, healing, etc. The things and people we look to are not always what will save us. God is the one who brings about salvation, even when that salvation comes through tangible things. God is always there to bring about salvation.

We can hope in the love of God. This love is what brings us through all the struggles of life. It has God walking beside us in the midst of our valleys. The love of God is carrying us through our darkest times. Our hope is in the love of God!!

  • What are you hoping for?
  • Visualize God setting with you waiting for the solution.
  • Visualize God bringing the solution that is needed.

-Please take a moment.-

Loving God, thank you for being with us in the midst of our darkest valleys. Thank you for loving us through the hard times that we face. Thank you for setting beside us when we feel like there is no hope. Thank you for loving, caring, and being with us. Amen.
